Notion API Integration

Step 1: Visit the Notion Developer Portal

Navigate to the Notion Developer Portal. This is the starting point for creating and managing your Notion integrations.


Step 2: Log in and Access “View My Integration”

Once on the Notion Developer Portal:

  1. Log in with your Notion account.
  2. After logging in, click on “View my integration” in the top navigation bar or on the main page. This will take you to the dashboard where you can manage your existing integrations or create new ones.

Step 3: Create or Select an Integration

In the “My integrations” section:

 

To create a new integration:

  1. Click “New integration”.
  2. Fill out the form: - Name: Enter a name for your integration (e.g., “My App Integration”). - Associated Workspace: Choose the workspace where you want to use this integration.
  3. After filling out the details, click “Submit”.

 

To use an existing integration:

  • Simply click on the name of the integration you’ve already created.

Step 4: Set the Integration Capabilities

For your integration to work properly, it needs appropriate permissions. At a minimum:

  • Make sure your integration has Read content capabilities:
    • Navigate to the Capabilities section of your integration settings.
    • Enable Read content by toggling it on.

Step 5: Copy Your API Key

  1. After setting up or selecting your integration, look for the Integration Token or API Key on the integration details page.
  2. Click Copy to copy the key to your clipboard. You’ll use this in the settings page of the plugin
